Having three of the NFL’s best offenses sitting at home last week didn’t keep us from a bounty of offensive goodness. This week has more pedestrian offenses on the shelf, including New England and Atlanta, so let’s hope the trend holds.
Here are Week 11’s starts and sits:
QB:
Starts:
Dak Prescott, Cowboys: He’s hot, and Dallas is riding its passing game with Tony Pollard struggling. The Panthers’ secondary has been pretty good this season, but their offense is still relatively non-existent. Ride the hot hand.
Sits:
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers: He’s been a usable starter for the last several weeks, but the addition to Chase Young to the 49ers defense has made them even tougher up front. Mayfield will likely be running for his life on Sunday.
RB:
Starts:
Brian Robinson, Commanders: He should get plenty of work with the Giants offense essentially unworkable and Antonio Gibson likely out.
David Montgomery, Lions: He’s not walking back into the same type of workload he had before his injury with the emergence of Jahmyr Gibbs. But Montgomery will still get the early-down carries and red zone work, and in this offense – and particularly against the Bears this week – that’s valuable territory. (Of course, Gibbs should eat too, but he was already in your lineup.)
Sits:
Najee Harris, Steelers: He and the Steelers’ run game are performing much better of late, but Jaylen Warren’s workload is increasing, and the Browns represent a defense to avoid.
Rachaad White, Buccaneers: He’s been a revelation these last two or three weeks, particularly due to his frequent participation in the passing game. But the 49ers defense seems to have regained its swagger during its off week and is a defense probably better avoided.
WR:
Starts:
D.J. Moore, Bears: Justin Fields is back under center for the Bears and the Lions are fresh off yielding a monster day to the Chargers’ Keenan Allen. With the Bears likely to be chasing points, Moore should eat.
Christian Kirk, Jaguars: Jacksonville’s passing game has not been the bounty of fantasy riches that we’ve expected this year, but the one constant producer has been Kirk. With the imminently beatable Titans secondary on tap this week, fire him up.
Sits:
Amari Cooper, Browns: The Steelers are not a particularly daunting matchup, but having Dorian Thompson-Robinson throwing him the ball creates a situation to avoid.
George Pickens, Steelers: His targets have plummeted since Diontae Johnson returned, and the Browns present a tough matchup – even though he burned them for a long touchdown in the teams’ previous meeting.
TE:
As always in these trying times, start whoever you can find that’s getting targets. Thursday night’s injury to Mark Andrews makes the landscape even more dreary.
